The IndyStar is reporting a graphic video released today by the Animal Recovery Mission shows workers abusing calves and using drugs at Fair Oaks Farm.
Click this link for the official statement from Fair Oaks Farms founder Mike McCloskey regarding the video. In the statement McCloskey says, "I am disgusted by and take full responsibility for the actions seen in the footage, as it goes against everything that we stand for in regards to responsible cow care and comfort. The employees featured in the video exercised a complete and total disregard for the documented training that all employees go through to ensure the comfort, safety and well-being of our animals."
Here is the tweet and video from ARM Investigations.
Indiana Dairy has released a statement on the video as well:
The social media reaction overwhelming calls the video disgusting and calls for boycott of Coca-Cola, Fairlife and in some cases all meat and dairy products. Here's a sampling.
In an opinion published on Facebook, Dairy Carrie says, “when we hire someone . . . we are trusting that whoever we hire will do the right thing by our cows.”
The Farm Babe has thoughts about how this is all shaking out too.
